GAME TUTORIALS

What are Sqwishland Characters?

Sqwishland Characters are cute and cool toys that come with a Secret Code, called a SqwishCode. The SqwishCode is your ticket to Sqwishland. A world filled with cute little Sqwishland Characters that you can own and take care of, enlist in a competition, buy items, play tons of minigames and create activities that allow you to learn while having fun. Joining Sqwishland is absolutely FREE! Although some features are only accessible if you have a Premium Account.

Login Area

Login Area is the first scene you'll see in the game. This is your gateway to the Sqwishland. If you're not a member yet, click on the New User Icon and follow the five step procedure. If you are an existing member, click on the "Existing Member" icon. On the next screen, type in your username and password then hit the PLAY button. If you forgot your password, press the Retrieve Password button, this will ask for the email address you used when you registered.

After hitting Play Button, wait for your items to load. Sometimes it takes time to load all your items and pets, depending on the connection speed of your computer. If you are a newly registered player, the game will create your player's items and avatars, kindly wait for it to finish.

Sqwishland

Once you login with your newly registered Sqwishland username and password, you'll be welcomed by Squizel, the official Sqwishland tour guide. He'll guide you through the basic tasks you need to start playing Sqwishland: Create your avatar, how to move your avatar in Sqwishland, and discover how to unlock items and areas in the game. Just carefully follow Squizel's instructions and you won't need to worry about getting lost in the game.

The starting point in Sqwishland is the Sqwungle. To begin click around and find objects that are clickable. Some objects move when you click on them. There are also characters that can help you along the way by clicking on them. For example; if you are a new Sqwishland Player, it is always best to click on the Lion with a "?" above his head.

From the Sqwungle you can jump off to any place in Sqwishland or click the "Home" Icon at the bottom of the screen to go to your SqwishHome.

Scattered throughout Sqwishland are games that you can play to earn SqwishXP and Sqwash. These games are called minigames and are identified by red arrows when you move your pointers on the icons.

SqwishHome

Your SqwishHome is where you keep all the items that you acquired in Sqwishland. Outside your SqwishHome, you can also see the Sqwishland Characters that you have been collecting. By clicking on the Sqwishland Characters, you can choose which pet you would like to have following your Avatar.

Inside your SqwishHome you can arrange them by clicking the "House" button on the top left corner of the screen.

Along with the outside and inside of your SqwishHome, you also have your Aquarium. You can get here by clicking the "Aquarium" button that is located near the bottom right corner of your screen. Inside your Aquarium you can find all of your Aqua Sqwishland Characters. Just like the outside of your SqwishHome you can select one of the Aqua Sqwishland Characters to follow your Avatar by clicking on them.

Inside your SqwishHome you can also inspect your Inventory. Clicking on the inventory Icon will open you up into an area where you can choose which house you would like to use (depending on if you have purchased a new SqwishHome) and also what Avatar costume you would like to have.

GAME PLAY

• Step 1:

  Type your Sqwishland username and password then press PLAY button.
  

• Step 2:

  If it's your first time to login in the game, a player tutorial will guide you on how to control your avatar and every basic task in the game. You can choose to skip this tutorial but remember that just by using the tutorial, you will easily level up, gain XP points and earn Sqwash.
  
  Wait for all your items and avatars to load, when it's done, your avatar will appear on the center screen (if it's your second time to login and you have already purchased/collected a Sqwishland Character you may have the pet standing next to your Avatar). To make your avatar walk, click on the area where you want it to go. You can go to any place in Sqwishland except where there are obstacles and objects. Your avatar faces wherever you point the mouse. Practice and try clicking it anywhere.

  
  
  
  
  

• Step 3:

  The lower part of the game screen contains the Chatterbox. This is where you can find and talk to other players that are online. On the lower left, beside the message box are the Quick Messaging buttons. These are default templates for words that are commonly used in chatting. Click the arrow down on the top of the game screen to see the chat messages. Here you'll see it looks like a common chat messenger system.

  
  
  

• Step 4:

  To play Sqwishland MiniGames. Click on the special characters/items around Sqwishland. Click the PLAY button on the game launcher to start playing. Remember some games may require you to have a special item (gained from a quest) or a specific type of Sqwishland Character.

  

• Step 5:

  You can take part in the SqwishQuest at any time. To first start yourself on this fascinating journey, you should click the Lion in the Sqwungle with the "?" above his head. You can follow your adventure at any time by clicking on the "Quest" icon at any time.

• Step 6:

  To buy an item, avatar or SqwishHome, go to a Shop. Depending on the shop, the Shop Panel will show you the available merchandise in that Sqwishland Area. Select an item from the list and the preview window on the right will show you its properties, its name and cost in Sqwash. Click the Buy button to add the item to your inventory. Then check your inventory in your SqwishHome to see if the buying was successful.

• Step 7:

  Acquiring more Sqwishland Characters is easy. After you earn some Sqwash you can go to the SqwishGallery and go through all of the Sqwishland Characters before making your choice. After clicking on a Sqwishland Character you can rotate the character to see all around before your final choice.

When will premium membership activate?

Depending on the manner of payment you chose, your membership status will automatically be updated soon as the transaction has been validated. Payments via Credit card are immediately activated; Paypal payments will be activated within one (1) day; payments through SMS may depend on your service provider; and payments through Mail could take up to four (4) weeks.

Is it possible to transfer a premium membership to another account?

Renewing my premium membership

Please proceed to the Membership page and choose the package you want. Please bear in mind that you need to use the same username and password for your Sqwishland™ account. Also, cancel your active automatically renewing membership before changing your subscription package.

Changing payment method for premium membership

Simply cancel your existing premium membership and avail a new membership using your updated information. Your Sqwishland™ items will not be lost and remaining premium membership time will load onto your new membership if you use the same account details of the previous membership.

Premium memberships automatically renew with guaranteed uninterrupted service if your payment plan is by credit card. This service is also cancellable at anytime.

Changing your automatically renewing membership

Simply cancel your existing membership package and avail the new membership package you want. If there is any remaining time left from your previous membership package, it will automatically load onto your new membership package.

Cancelling premium membership

Only premium memberships availed by credit card can be cancelled. Premium memberships purchased via Credit card automatically renew each month to give your uninterrupted premium membership services. Premium memberships are also cancellable at any time. To cancel your premium membership, please email us at support@sqwishland.com.

Reminder: After cancelling, your premium membership will still run throughout the period you have purchased.

When will the cancellation start?

Your premium membership will not automatically renew if you cancel it. Your premium membership will expire at the end of the time you paid for once it has been cancelled prior to that expiration date. Cancelling can be done any time after the initial payment, and any premium membership time will not be lost from early cancellations.

How do I view the SqwishMap?

Why is my SqwishMap not Available?

Your SqwishMap is not available because you have not started a Quest yet. To start the quest click on the Lion in the Sqwungle (where you start) and after accepting his mission he will provide you with the map.

How do I get to the Aqua World?

To get to the Aqua World you must either complete Elder Sandra the Elephant's quest or purchase the scuba gear from one of the many Sqwops. Once you have acquired the Scuba Gear you are free to roam and explore the Aqua world playing on the many more minigames.

I bought Clothes for my avatar, how do I get changed?

After purchasing clothes inside the game for you avatar, you can go to your SqwishHome and click on the "inventory" button at the bottom of your Screen. Inside here you will see the different items that you purchased. After Selecting changing into the items that you purchased, make sure that you hit "save" as this will store it ready for the game.

What is the SqwishFinder?

The SqwishFinder is a special device created to allow you to find the closest vending machines containing Sqwishland Characters. Simply type in your Address or Zip Code and you will be shown the local vending machines in your area.

I cannot find any Sqwishland characters in my area; does this mean that there isn't any available?

The SqwishFinder is constantly updated with addresses, so if you cannot find any vending machines in your area, it may only be because they have not been updated into the system yet. So keep checking and soon you will be able to find the Sqwishland Characters near you.

Note: Sqwishland Characters are currently only available in the USA, Canada, Australia, and Philippines.

How do I clear my Cache?

If you are having troubles with the game, whether objects are not loading or the game seems to be playing up then you may need to clear cache.

If you do not know how to do it, please look below to find your browser and then follow the instructions about how to clear your cache files. Please note: Dial-up users SHOULD NOT attempt to clear their cache as it may create complications when trying to log back into Sqwishland.

I can't see everything; some of the things are cut off on the bottom. What should I do?

You could try clicking one of the two links at the top of your window;

- Pop Out; this will pop your game out into an individual window.
- Small Screen; this is a smaller version of the game designed for smaller monitors.

If neither of this options work it might be best to try changing your monitor resolution to 1024x768.

Windows 98/2000/XP Users

1. Right-click on your desktop (away from any icons or open windows)
2. Select "Properties"
3. This will open your Display Properties Control Panel.
4. Click on the "Settings" tab.
5. In the middle of this panel, you will see your "Screen Resolution" slider. Slide this to the right, until you get to 1024x768 (higher resolutions are okay, but make sure that they are compatible with your monitor). Press "OK" to confirm your choice.
6. Your monitor will flicker a bit then change to its new settings. You're now ready to go!

Windows Vista Users

Method 1: From the desktop
1. Right-click on your desktop (away from any icons or open windows)
2. Click "Personalize"
3. At the bottom of the list, click "Display Settings".
4. Use the slider bar to select your desired resolution (1024x768 or higher)
5. Click OK.
Method 2: From Control Panel
1. Click the Start button (it's still called that, it just doesn't say "Start" on it anymore)
2. Click "Control Panel"
3. Under "Appearance and Personalization", select "Adjust Screen Resolution".
4. Use the slider bar to select your desired resolution (1024x768 or higher)
5. Click OK.
Mac Users
1. Go to the Apple menu at the top left-hand corner of the screen, and choose System Preferences from the drop-down menu.

Why does Sqwishland freeze up/lag sometimes?

Unfortunately, sometimes there are so many people trying to use Sqwishland at the same time that our computers can become overloaded. We try to keep this to a minimum and we are always expanding our system to keep up with the number of visitors we have!
